Dr. Aarti Lamba

Dr. Aarti is a distinguished legal academician, researcher, and former practicing advocate with a rich blend of academic excellence, professional experience, and interdisciplinary scholarship, currently serving as Assistant Professor at the School of Legal Studies, K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, where she also holds key academic leadership roles as Program Coordinator of the LL.B. (3 Years) programme, Convenor of the Model United Nations (MUN) Club, and an active member of the Centre for Human Rights. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from GD Goenka University and has completed her LL.M., LL.B., and B.B.A. with First Division, reflecting a strong academic foundation that integrates law, governance, and management. Prior to transitioning into full-time academia, she practiced as an Advocate from 2017 to 2023 before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, and District & Sessions Courts (Patiala House Courts), representing clients in criminal, civil, family, constitutional, and human rights matters, an experience that significantly enriches her classroom teaching and research orientation. Her core areas of specialization include Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Cyber and Data Protection Law, Environmental Law, Forensic and Police Studies, and the emerging interface between Artificial Intelligence and Law, with a strong focus on contemporary legal challenges and policy responses. Dr. Aarti has an extensive research profile, having presented papers at numerous national and international conferences across India, France, Germany, Malaysia, Thailand, and Nepal, including global platforms on sustainable development, environmental law, gender justice, AI governance, digital privacy, forensic science, and police human rights, and has been the recipient of prestigious recognitions such as Best Paper Awards at international conferences and Second Runner-Up in a Best Thesis Competition. She has published widely in UGC CARE-listed and ABDC-indexed journals, edited books, and Springer/Atlantis Press conference proceedings, and is also a co-inventor of a published Indian patent, demonstrating her interdisciplinary engagement beyond traditional legal scholarship. In addition to her research and teaching, she has made significant contributions to academic administration and student development by coordinating national conferences, faculty development programmes, educational visits to constitutional and human rights institutions, moot courts, debates, and MUN activities, and by serving as a resource person in academic webinars, thereby reflecting her sustained commitment to advancing legal education, research innovation, and socially responsive legal scholarship.
