The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Its main goal is to provide a uniform process for admission to Indian undergraduate programmes. Before CUET, every university was individualistic and had its own admissions requirements. This resulted in a lack of consistency. In many cases, the exam and admission were sources of anxiety and pain for the students.<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to minimise discrepancies in the admissions process and provide a more equal and transparent method for students to get a seat in undergraduate courses, CUET was established to manage the admission process across central institutions.
